Health & Safety

F&S Pipework's objective is to provide in its delivery of product, a safe working environment for its staff, operatives, subcontractors, associated contractors, their personnel and the general public.
The directors of the company are delegated with the duty to ensure the company and activities under their control are in keeping with the overall policy statement and satisfies the legal and moral obligations under the health & safety at work act 1974.
To assist F&S Pipework with these duties and for all other necessary support we have retained the external services of European Health & Safety Advisors (Bedford) who are available to assist and advise any company or staff member on any aspect of health & safety.



Gold Award presented to F&S Pipework by Baroness Gibson of Market Rasen during the esteemed Rospa Health & Safety Award Ceremony at The Hilton in Birmingham.

F&S Pipework won further Gold awards in each of the following 4 consecutive years cuminating in receiving the prestigious Gold Medal Award in 2010. 

October 2006 F&S Pipework employed a full time Health, Safety and Environment Manager to cover the expanding issues on & off site.
The role will cover the activities:-

* Carrying out Risk assessments and considering how risks can be reduced.
* Prepare health & safety strategies and developing internal policy.
* Outlining safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards.
* Carrying out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented.
* Planning pratical and effective methods, both preventative and remedial, of promoting health & safety and safe working practices.
* Attending safety committee meetings.
* Making changes in the working practices that are safe and comply with legislation.
* Leading in-house training about health & safety issues and risks.
* Keeping records of inspections findings and producing reports suggesting improvemnts.
* Keeping records of incidents and accidents and producing statistic for Directors.
* Keeping upto date with new legislation.
* Liasing with officials from regulatory authorities to ensure the organisation is compliant with mandatory regulations.
* Carrying out accident investigations on site and producing subsequent reports and recommendations.
* Carrying out fire drills.
* Ensuring the safe installation of equipment.
* Managing hazardous substances and the disposal of chemicals, e.g. asbestos.
* Advising on a range of specialist areas, e.g fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases.
